The Segway GT3 Pro is the faster, longer-range, dual-motor version: up to 50 mph and 86 miles (Eco mode), with hydraulic brakes and S-ABS, at 117 lb. The standard GT3 SuperScooter tops out at 31 mph with up to 45 miles of range, uses one rear motor and disc brakes, and weighs a much more manageable 87 lb. Buy the Pro for power, range and braking; buy the GT3 if you need to lift it and don't need the speed.

Range and battery
The GT3 Pro's 72V, 2,160 Wh battery is more than twice the size of the GT3's 899 Wh pack. In Eco mode that means about 86 miles against 45. Even ridden in Sport mode, the Pro matches the standard GT3's best-case Eco figure. If you ride long distances or hate charging, this alone justifies the Pro.
Power, speed and hills
Two motors against one is the core difference. The GT3 Pro drives both wheels with up to 3,500W each, reaching about 50 mph and climbing about 38% slopes. The GT3's single 2,400W-max rear motor reaches about 31 mph and handles about 30%. For heavier riders or hilly routes, the second motor makes the Pro feel far stronger.

Brakes: the most underrated upgrade
The GT3 Pro uses hydraulic disc brakes front and rear with S-ABS, Segway's anti-lock braking. The standard GT3 uses disc brakes. At the Pro's speeds, stronger, more controlled braking isn't a luxury, and it is one reason we point riders who want speed towards the Pro rather than the base model.
Weight and everyday use
This is where the GT3 wins. At about 87 lb, it is 30 lb lighter than the 117 lb Pro. That is the difference between an electric scooter most riders can lift into a car trunk or carry up a few steps, and one you really want to roll into a ground-floor space.
Which one should you buy?
- Buy the Segway GT3 Pro if you want range (up to 86 miles), dual-motor power for hills or a heavier rider, and hydraulic brakes with S-ABS.
- Buy the Segway GT3 if you need something you can lift, your rides are under about 30 miles, and you don't need the Pro's speed.
