Buy the Surron Light Bee X if you are new to electric dirt bikes, want something you can lift into a pickup, or ride tight trails: it weighs 123 lb, has a 32.7-inch seat and still makes 6,000W. Buy the Surron Ultra Bee if you already ride off-road and want a full-size machine: 12.5 kW, 440 Nm at the wheel, 240 mm of suspension travel and traction control, at 196 lb. Both are off-road electric dirt bikes, not street-legal vehicles.

*Prices at the time of writing, September 2026. Specifications are Surron's. Surron measured the Light Bee X's range with a 165 lb rider at 22 to 25 mph, and the Ultra Bee's with a 154 lb rider at a constant 31 mph, both on dry, flat ground.
Size and weight: the first thing to decide
The Light Bee X is 73 lb lighter and sits three inches lower. That changes everything about living with it: two people can lift it into a pickup, most adults can put a foot down at a stop, and it is far easier to pick up after a fall on the trail. The Ultra Bee is a full-size machine with a 35.8-inch seat, closer to a gas dirt bike in size. If you are under about 5'8", or have not ridden a dirt bike before, sit on both before you decide.
Power and control
The Ultra Bee doubles the Light Bee X's power and adds 75 percent more torque at the wheel, reaching 31 mph in 2.3 seconds by Surron's figures. It balances that with a three-level traction control system designed to stay on off-road, and a reverse mode for tight spots. The Light Bee X is still fast, with 6,000W on a 123 lb machine, but it is more forgiving to learn on. Both have an Eco mode, which we set for new riders at handover.
Suspension and terrain
With 240 mm of fully adjustable travel and 12.5 inches of ground clearance, the Ultra Bee handles bigger jumps, rocks and rough ground. The Light Bee X's 200 mm fork and 210 mm rear travel suit single-track and trail riding, and its short wheelbase makes it quick in tight turns.
Battery and range
The Ultra Bee's 74V 55Ah battery gives it more range, and it has a vented compartment under the seat so the charger travels with it. The Light Bee X's 60V 40Ah pack comes out in about ten seconds and weighs 11.6 kg, which makes charging it indoors easy. Remember that range figures are measured at a steady speed on flat ground; hard trail riding uses much more.
Where you can ride them
Both Surrons are sold as off-road electric dirt bikes. They are not e-bikes under New York law, and neither can be ridden on public streets, sidewalks or bike lanes in NYC. Plan to ride on private land with the owner's permission, or on tracks and trails where electric dirt bikes are allowed. We walk you through the rules for where you plan to ride at handover. Which one should you buy?
- Choose the Surron Light Bee X if it is your first electric dirt bike, you need to load it into a pickup or van, you ride tight trails, or you are shorter or lighter.
- Choose the Surron Ultra Bee if you already ride off-road, want full-size suspension and power, weigh more than about 200 lb with gear, or want traction control and reverse.
