What the driver behind you can see
The KUKIRIN G2 electric scooter has turn signals. That sounds like a small thing until you have tried to indicate a left turn at 20 mph by taking a hand off the bar, and it is genuinely uncommon at this price. Here is the whole rear of the machine as the car behind you sees it.
Signalling without letting go of the handlebar
Most electric scooters at this money give you a rear reflector and a single taillight, and expect you to signal a turn with an outstretched arm. On a machine with a hand throttle and a hand brake, taking one hand off in traffic is exactly when you least want to.
The G2 puts the decision on a switch instead. That is the argument for this electric scooter over a cheaper one, and it is worth more in a city than another two miles of range would be.

None of this makes a rider invisible to a driver who is not looking. It does mean that when they are looking, they know what you are about to do.
How the KUKIRIN G2 electric scooter actually rides
Three speed modes, and the gaps between them are sensibly spaced rather than clustered at the top the way some electric scooters are.
Mode one
Shared paths and anywhere with a posted limit. Also where a new rider should spend the first week.
Mode two
The setting most people leave it in. Quick enough to keep up with city traffic without feeling busy.
Mode three
The full 800 watts. Useful for open road and for getting away from a light before the queue behind you does.
Thirty-four miles, and a 20-degree hill
The 48V 15Ah pack is good for 34 miles and takes 8 to 9 hours to fill. For a commute of five miles each way that is a charge every three days rather than every night, which is the difference between an electric scooter you use and one you keep forgetting to plug in.
Climbing is rated at 20°. That covers ordinary city gradients and bridge approaches. It is the lowest rating in the KUKIRIN range, and if your route has a serious hill on it the dual-motor G2 Master is rated to 28°.
At 57 lbs the G2 is not an electric scooter you carry far. It folds to 560 mm tall for a car boot or a hallway, but plan on wheeling rather than lifting.

Why tubeless tires matter more than the tire size does
A tubed tire punctures when anything gets through the tread, because the tube pinches and lets go all at once. A tubeless tire has no tube to pinch. Small punctures often seal enough to get you home, and even a real one deflates gradually rather than instantly.
On a commuter that is the difference between being late and being stranded. It is the single most useful thing about the G2's wheels, and it matters more than an extra inch of diameter would.
Braking is a disc system, and there is spring suspension to take the edge off broken asphalt. Ground clearance is 17.5 cm, which is generous for an electric scooter this size and means kerb ramps and speed humps are not a constant worry.
The deck measures 46 by 18.7 cm, so there is room to stand with your feet apart rather than in a line. That sounds minor and it is the thing riders notice most on a long trip.

Where the G2 sits in the KUKIRIN electric scooter range
We carry seven KUKIRIN machines and the G2 is the entry point. Here is the honest version of what the extra money buys, in the order most customers ask.
The G2 Max is the next step at $150 more. It adds 7 mph, 9 miles and a bigger 1000W motor, and its seat kit is included rather than optional. If you are choosing on value alone it is the strongest argument in the range.
The G2 Ultra adds a second motor and a turbo mode for 31 mph. The G2 Master goes further to 37 mph and a 28° climbing rating. And the G3 Pro is the one with hydraulic brakes.
What the G2 keeps that none of the cheaper machines elsewhere have is the full lighting set. If your riding is city commuting rather than distance or hills, the money is better spent here than on watts you will rarely use.
What a week of commuting on the KUKIRIN G2 actually looks like
Most of what gets written about electric scooters is about the numbers at their limits. What decides whether you keep riding one is duller and more repetitive, so it is worth setting out plainly.
Charging. A five-mile commute each way is ten miles a day, so a 34-mile range is roughly a charge every third night. That is the difference between a machine that lives on the charger and one you plug in when you remember. Eight to nine hours means overnight, not a top-up over lunch.
Storage. Folded to 560 mm it stands in a hallway or goes in a car boot. At 57 lbs, lifting it into a boot is a two-hand job and carrying it up more than a few steps is not realistic. If you live above a walk-up, be honest with yourself about that before you buy, and look at a lighter machine instead.
Weather. IP54 covers rain and wet roads. It does not cover standing water, and no electric scooter's rating does. Tubeless tires help here too, because a wet road is exactly when you least want to be fixing a puncture at the kerb.
Tire pressure. The one piece of upkeep that actually changes how the G2 rides, and the one nobody does. Under-inflated tires cost range and make the steering vague. We check and set it at every service, and it takes a minute.

How fast is the KUKIRIN G2 electric scooter?
27 mph in the top of three modes, with 15 mph and 21 mph below it. The mode is set on the machine, so you can cap it lower for a shared path or a new rider.
How far does it go on a charge?
34 miles from the 48V 15Ah battery. Rider weight, hills, cold and which speed mode you use all reduce it, which is true of every electric scooter sold.
Does it really have turn signals?
Yes. Two turn signals, a brake light and a taillight, all switched from the handlebar. It is unusual at this price and it is the main reason to choose the G2 over a cheaper machine for city riding.
What does tubeless mean and why does it matter?
There is no inner tube inside the tire. A tube punctures all at once when something gets through; a tubeless tire often seals small punctures and deflates gradually rather than instantly. On a commute that is the difference between late and stranded.
How long does it take to charge?
Eight to nine hours from empty, so it is an overnight charge. At a five-mile commute each way you would be charging roughly every third day.
How much does it weigh, and can I carry it?
57 lbs. It folds to 560 mm tall for a car boot or a hallway, but at that weight plan on wheeling it rather than carrying it up stairs. If carrying matters, our own Mosquito is 29 lbs.
How much weight can it carry?
264 lbs, or 120 kg.
Can it climb hills?
It is rated to 20°, which covers ordinary city gradients and bridge approaches. That is the lowest rating in the KUKIRIN range. If your route has a real hill, the dual-motor G2 Master is rated to 28°.
Is there a seat available?
Yes, as an option at checkout, shipped separately. If you know you want a seat, the G2 Max includes one in the price and is worth comparing.
Can it be ridden in the rain?
It carries an IP54 rating, so light rain and wet roads are within it. Avoid standing water. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.
What is the difference between the G2 and the G2 Max?
$150. The G2 Max adds a 1000W motor for 34 mph, a bigger 20.8Ah battery for 43 miles, a 22° climbing rating and an included seat kit. If the budget stretches, it is the better value of the two.
How does the warranty option work?
You choose 12 months as standard or 24 months extended at checkout. KUKIRIN is a brand we carry rather than one we design, so it comes with a year of cover through us as standard, and we handle any claim for you.
What comes in the box?
KUKIRIN includes a carry bag with every G2. The seat kit is separate if you choose it.
