Our Commitment to NYC's Electric Mobility Safety Initiative
Share
New York City recently announced new measures to strengthen public safety standards for electric vehicles sold and ridden in the five boroughs. As a company born and headquartered in New York, we want to be clear about where we stand: Wilson eBikes fully supports this initiative.
We believe the long-term success of electric mobility in our city depends on three things — public trust, product safety, and compliance with local regulations. That's why, following the City's announcement, we immediately began a comprehensive review of our product catalog, online listings, and marketing materials to make sure everything we sell and promote aligns with New York City and New York State regulations.
What We're Committing To
Selling only compliant products. Every electric mobility product we sell and promote will comply with applicable New York City and New York State regulations.
Making legality clear before you buy. We'll clearly identify which products are legal for use in New York — and explain the real differences between e-bikes, electric scooters, mopeds, and off-road electric vehicles, so you never have to guess.
Prioritizing UL-certified products. Battery safety matters. We'll continue to prioritize UL-certified products and expand our safety education for riders.
Pushing the industry forward. We're working proactively with manufacturers, distributors, and public agencies to raise safety and compliance standards across the entire electric mobility industry.
Why This Matters to Us
Some see regulation as an obstacle. We see it as an opportunity — a chance to build a safer, more transparent, and more trusted electric mobility ecosystem for everyone who rides in this city.
Our mission has always been to help New Yorkers move more efficiently while respecting the communities we operate in. We appreciate the City's efforts to improve public safety, and we're committed to being part of the solution.
