Running cost

What does a mile actually cost?

E-TWOW publishes the GT line's consumption at 6.15 Wh per kilometer with the lights on, about 9.9 Wh per mile. Set your electricity rate and weekly miles, and the planner does the rest with that figure alone.

Estimate from the manufacturer's consumption figure. Hills, speed, cold and rider weight change real use.

For comparison, a single 4.5-mile subway or bus fare costs more than a month of GT SL electricity at these settings.

Meet the GT SL

The commuter, now with Bluetooth

Designed for the urban commuter, the GT SL combines a 500W motor with 700W peak and a lightweight, durable frame. Regenerative braking, airless tires and a bright color LCD keep the ride smooth, and its focus on portability makes city streets efficient and seamless.

The GT range pairs with the E-TWOW smart app over Bluetooth for speed limits, ride data and updates.

Three brakes

Regenerative, drum, emergency

The GT SL carries three independent brakes. Even switched off it is still safe to ride like a simple kick-style ride.

KERS technology, from Formula 1 to the sidewalk

E-TWOW was the first to put Formula 1 KERS energy recovery on an electric scooter, and has kept refining it. The GT SL recovers up to 60% of braking energy back into the battery through a frictionless magnetic brake, with a smooth, no-shock feel adapted to how people ride.

Reliable rear drum brake

A sealed drum brake on the rear wheel adds mechanical stopping power that does not care about rain, grit or a flat battery. It is the brake you feel when you squeeze the lever hard.

Emergency mudguard brake

Step on the rear fender and it presses on the wheel, the classic push-along brake. It works with the power off, which is why the GT SL stays safe to ride home even with a flat battery.

FAQ

E-TWOW GT SL questions

How fast does the E-TWOW GT SL go?
Up to 23 mph, adjustable in the E-TWOW app. The preset limits are 6, 12, 20 and 25 km/h, and once one is set the GT SL will not exceed it. We set the limit for your area at handover.
How far does it go on a charge?
Up to 22 miles from the 48V 374 Wh battery under manufacturer conditions. Rider weight, hills, cold and speed shorten it; the KERS regenerative brake claws some of it back.
What is the difference between the GT SL and the GT Sport?
The battery. The GT SL carries 374 Wh for 23 mph and 22 miles and charges in 3 hours; the GT Sport carries 504 Wh for 26 mph and 25 miles and charges in 3.5 hours. Motor, frame, weight, brakes and fold are the same.
How much does it cost to run?
E-TWOW rates the GT line at 6.15 Wh per kilometer with the lights on, roughly 9.9 Wh per mile. Use the running-cost planner above with your own electricity rate.
How much does it weigh?
29.3 lbs (13.3 kg). It is among the lightest electric scooters we sell with this much power.
How small does it fold?
41.7 x 13.0 x 5.8 inches with the patented 3-point fold, and the body unfolds itself when you release it.
What are the three brakes?
A front regenerative KERS brake that recovers up to 60% of braking energy, a sealed rear drum brake, and a rear emergency mudguard brake that works with the power off.
Are airless tires comfortable?
They ride firmer than air tires, which is why the GT SL has front and rear shock absorbers. In return they never go flat and rarely need replacing.
Can it climb hills?
Rated for a 25% grade. Rider weight and charge level affect it.
How long does it take to charge?
About 3 hours to full with the 54.6V 3A charger, and 50% in about an hour. E-TWOW recommends a full charge before first use and a top-up every three months if it sits unused.
Is it safe to ride in the rain?
Light rain and wet roads are fine. Do not ride through deep water or submerge it, and never charge a wet or swollen battery. Bring it straight in instead.
What is the maximum rider weight?
242 lbs.
Which colors are available?
Black and Grey. Grey is currently out of stock at the manufacturer; ask in the shop about timing.
Does it connect to an app?
Yes. The E-TWOW app connects over Bluetooth for the speed limit, battery, ride data and updates, on iOS and Android.
Can I test ride it first, and is there a warranty?
Yes to both. Come to any of our shops and ride the GT SL before you decide. It is covered for one year on the brands we carry, handled in our shops by our own technicians.
Is financing available, and where do I get it serviced?
Yes, apply in the shop or at checkout and pay over time on approved credit. Service is at any of our shops, where our technicians handle brakes, tires, batteries, displays and firmware for every electric scooter we sell.
