How fast does the Hiboy EX9 go?

It is a Class 3 e-bike with a 20 mph default top speed. Where local rules permit, pedal assist can be raised to 28 mph. We set it for your state at handover.

How far does it go on a charge?

Up to 31 miles in pure electric mode and up to 62 miles with pedal assist. Rider weight, terrain, weather, style and assist level change it.

What makes it different from other commuter e-bikes?

A dual-sided torque sensor, a 1000W peak motor, 62 miles of assist range, hydraulic disc brakes, an adjustable handlebar, front suspension, a 6061 aluminum frame and a 330 lb payload, together in one commuter.

What is a dual-sided torque sensor and why does it matter?

It measures the force on both pedals instead of just detecting that the pedals are turning. Compared with a cadence sensor you get faster response, more natural assistance, smoother acceleration, better efficiency and more control when starting, climbing or riding in traffic.

Can it handle hills?

Yes. The 750W motor with 1000W peak climbs grades up to 20%, and the torque sensor feeds power in smoothly so you keep traction and control.

Is it comfortable for daily commuting?

Yes. 80 mm front suspension, 26 x 2.5 inch tires, a 60-degree adjustable handlebar, an ergonomic position and a light aluminum frame all cut fatigue on daily rides.

Is the battery removable, and how long does it charge?

Yes, the 48V 11.6Ah battery lifts out to charge on or off the e-bike, which helps in apartments and offices. A full charge takes about 7 to 8 hours.

Can I ride it in the rain?

The frame is rated IPX4 and the battery IPX5, so light rain and wet roads are fine. Do not submerge it or ride through deep puddles, and never charge a wet or swollen battery. Bring it straight in instead.

What rider height and weight does it fit?

Riders from 4'9" to 6'5", with a maximum payload of 330 lbs for rider and cargo.

Does it have hydraulic brakes?

Yes, front and rear hydraulic disc brakes with motor cut-off, which reduces motor power automatically when you brake.

What riding modes does it have?

Pedal-only with no assistance, pedal assist with the motor helping, and pure electric on the throttle.

What tires does it use?

26 x 2.5 inch tires, a balance of speed, comfort and stability with more cushion than standard commuter tires and efficient rolling on pavement.

How does it compare to the P6?

Both are Class 3 with the same battery and range. The EX9 has the torque sensor, hydraulic brakes, 2.5-inch tires, an adjustable stem and a 330 lb payload at 59.5 lbs; the P6 runs 4-inch fat tires and a cadence sensor. Ride both in the shop.

Is it good for beginners?

Yes. The torque sensor makes assistance predictable, the position is upright and the brakes are strong, so new riders settle in quickly.
