The stem folds onto the deck and the handlebar folds in on itself, taking the X4 from 52 inches tall to under 22. That is the difference between an e-scooter that lives in the garage and one that goes in the back of a hatchback, up in the lift, or under a desk. At 100 lbs it is a two-person lift into a boot, and a one-person wheel everywhere else.

Two 2800W motors, one switch

A 2800W brushless motor in each wheel. On one motor the X4 is a quiet, efficient commuter; press the dual-motor switch and both wheels drive, which is what gives it a 45 degree climbing figure and its 52 mph maximum. Teewing’s own advice is to run dual on steep hills and above 40 mph, where two driven wheels keep it planted.

Multiple driving modes

The LCD offers Low, Medium and High, and two handlebar switches toggle Eco or Turbo and single or dual motor. Between them the X4 can be a gentle path machine or a full-power climber, and the rider sets it from the bar.

How fast is the Teewing X4?

Up to 52 mph in dual-motor mode. Teewing ship it limited to public-road speeds; the high-performance modes are rider-set for private property and off-road. The modes are set from the display; ask in the shop if you are unsure.

How far does it go on a charge?

Up to 62 miles from the 60V 33Ah battery. Turbo, dual motor, hills, rider weight and cold weather all bring that down.

How long does it take to charge?

Seven to eight hours on the supplied charger, or four to six with two chargers connected.

Does it fold?

Yes, both the stem and the handlebar. Folded it measures 50 by 13 by 21.7 inches. At 100 lbs it is a two-person lift into a car boot.

Does it come with a seat?

Yes. A saddle, a carry bag, a code lock, a phone holder, rear-view mirrors, an air pump and tools are all in the box. The tools are in the box, and our technicians can look it over at any Wilson’s shop.

What do the switches do?

One toggles Eco and Turbo, the other single and dual motor, and the display has Low, Medium and High. Teewing suggest dual motor for steep hills and for anything over 40 mph.

Is it street legal?

E-scooter rules vary by state and city, and 52 mph is above public-road limits everywhere, which is why Teewing ship it restricted. Ride in the mode that matches your local rules and ask us if you are unsure.

How steep can it climb?

Teewing rate it for a 45 degree slope with both motors engaged.

What brakes does it have?

Widened 160mm hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, with electronic braking on top.

What suspension does it have?

Dual hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and a mono damping shock at the rear.

Can I ride it in the rain?

It is rated IP54, which covers light rain and splashes. Never pressure-wash it, and never charge a machine that is wet or whose battery looks swollen or damaged; bring it straight in to us.

What can it carry?

A 440 lb maximum load.

X4 or X5?

Same chassis, weight and box contents. The X5 has 6000W and a 38Ah battery for 75 miles; the X4 has 5600W and 33Ah for 62. If your rides are under 40 miles the X4 covers them with room to spare.

Is the battery removable?

No, the X4 pack is built into the deck. The Z4 Pro has a removable pack.
