More power, more speed

2000W, and the hills stop mattering

Up to 28 mph once High Speed is enabled, and enough torque to climb a 30 percent grade with a rider on board. Boost Mode takes the Max G3 from a standstill to 15 mph in 2.4 seconds, which is the difference between leading the light and chasing it.

SegRange

50 miles of adventure

Segway's own SegRange technology tunes the brushless motor, the long-range tire compound and the controller together so the 597 Wh built-in battery goes further than the numbers suggest. Up to 50 miles in Eco, and a real 25 miles flat out in Sport+.

Segway publishes the range mode by mode rather than as one headline figure, which we appreciate. These are the manufacturer ratings at each mode's top speed.

Navigation and real-time information

Turn-by-turn guidance on the display itself, so the phone stays in your pocket. Speed, battery, mode and trip distance sit alongside it, and incoming calls show up without you looking down at a screen in your hand.

Smart charge management

Plug in and the dashboard tells you when it will be full. Set a charging limit in the Segway Mobility App to protect the battery, or schedule the charge for cheaper hours.

Stability enhancement system

SegRide: agile at 10 mph, planted at 28

SegRide is Segway's stability system for its Gen 3 electric scooters. It works on the geometry rather than the electronics: an 80 mm trailing distance, a precisely tuned stem angle and steering damping, so the Max G3 stays composed at speed, through sharp turns and on slippery roads.

Handling

The curved handlebar gives a natural, comfortable grip. Trailing distance and steering damping are balanced so the electric scooter is easy to place and smooth to ride.

Slip and disturbance resistance

Segway's own Traction Control System manages grip at speed and on wet or loose surfaces. TCS ships switched off and is turned on in the app. Ask us to set it up at handover.

FAQ

Segway Max G3 questions

How fast is the Segway Max G3?
Up to 28 mph (45 km/h). It ships from Segway limited to 20 mph, and High Speed is enabled in the Segway Mobility App. We do it for you at handover.
How powerful is the motor?
2000W peak from a rear hub motor rated at 850W, double the Max G2's 1000W. That is what gets it up a 30 percent slope and from 0 to 15 mph in 2.4 seconds in Boost Mode.
How far does it go on a charge?
Up to 50 miles in Eco from the 597 Wh battery, 40 in Drive, 34 in Sport and 25 in Sport+. Segway rates each at that mode's top speed. Hills, cold and rider weight reduce all of them.
What is SegRange?
Segway's range technology. It tunes the brushless motor, the long-range tire compound and the controller algorithm together so the same battery goes further.
What is SegRide?
Segway's stability enhancement system for its Gen 3 electric scooters. It sets the trailing distance, stem angle and steering damping so the Max G3 handles smoothly at speed, in sharp turns and on slippery roads.
How long does it take to charge?
About 3.5 hours with the built-in charger and one cable. With Segway's optional DC charger on the second port at the same time, about 2.5 hours.
What does the display show?
A 2.4 inch TFT colour display with turn-by-turn navigation, speed, mode, trip distance, battery, incoming call alerts and charge-time estimates while plugged in.
What brakes does it have?
Dual-piston disc brakes front and rear, a big step up from the Max G2's drum and electronic combination. Shorter stops and balanced braking at higher speeds.
Is it waterproof?
The body is rated IPX6 and the battery pack IPX7. Ride it in the rain, but do not submerge it or pressure wash it, and never charge a wet or swollen battery. Bring it straight in instead.
How much does it weigh and who is it for?
About 54.2 lbs, with a 286 lb max payload. Segway recommends riders 16 to 55 and at least 5 ft 3 in tall.
Does it have suspension?
Yes. A twin-tube hydraulic shock up front and dual adjustable hydraulic shocks at the rear. We set the damping for your weight in the shop.
Does it work with Apple Find My?
Yes. Turn it on through the Segway Mobility App and the Max G3 appears in the Find My app on your Apple devices.
Does it lock itself?
Auto Unlock pairs it with your phone over Bluetooth, unlocks as you approach and powers off when folded. You set the locking distance in the app.
Can I test ride it first?
Yes. Come to any of our shops and stand on it next to the GT3 and Max G3 Plus before you decide.
Does it come with a warranty?
One year on the brands we carry, handled in our shops by our own technicians.
Is financing available?
Yes. Apply in the shop or at checkout and pay over time on approved credit.
