Hiboy ES1 questions

What age is the Hiboy ES1 for?
Children aged 4 to 10. The light frame, low top speed and step-to-go operation make it a strong first electric scooter for young riders.
How fast does it go?
A maximum of 5 mph, a controlled pace for children learning balance and coordination.
How far does it go on a charge?
Up to 6 miles in ideal conditions. Rider weight, terrain, riding style and battery condition change it.
How does it start?
With a step-and-go motion sensor instead of a hand throttle. Step on, push off and glide to about 2 mph, and the motor engages and assists up to 5 mph. It prevents accidental acceleration and is easier for small riders to control.
Does it have a throttle?
No. It is throttle-free and motion-activated, which keeps it intuitive for beginners.
How do kids stop it?
With the rear fender brake: press down on the fender with a foot to slow and stop. Children learn it in minutes.
Is it safe for young children?
It is built around safety: a 5 mph cap, step-and-go acceleration, a pinch-free frame, a UL 2272 battery, a non-slip silicone deck, silicone grips and kid-safe materials. Always supervise young riders and fit a helmet and protective gear.
What is the maximum rider weight?
110 lbs (50 kg).
How long does it take to charge?
About 5 to 6 hours. Avoid storing it with a fully drained battery.
Is it waterproof?
It is rated IPX5 for light rain and splashes. Do not submerge it or ride through deep puddles or heavy rain, and never charge a wet or swollen battery. Bring it straight in instead.
What wheels does it use?
A 6-inch PU front wheel that glows and a solid rubber rear wheel. Durable, and no flats to fix.
Where can it ride?
Smooth pavement, sidewalks and park paths. It handles small bumps and gentle slopes up to 8%, but it is not built for rough ground or off-road.
Does it have lights?
Yes: a glowing front wheel, a colorful front deck light, a spinning pinwheel and a rear reflective strip. They improve visibility and make the ride more exciting.
Does it turn off by itself?
Yes. After about 10 seconds without movement it beeps and powers off to save the battery.
Can we try it first, and is there a warranty?
Yes to both. Bring your rider to any of our shops and let them step on. It is covered for one year on the brands we carry, handled in our shops by our own technicians.
Is financing available, and where do I get it serviced?
Yes, apply in the shop or at checkout and pay over time on approved credit. Service is at any of our shops, where our technicians handle wheels, brakes and batteries for every electric scooter we sell.
