The Hiboy S2R Plus electric scooter is a lightweight folding commuter with a 22-mile range and a 4.8 lb battery that lifts out with a key, so charging happens indoors while the e-scooter stays put. The S2R Plus carries an IPX5-rated 313 Wh detachable battery. Turn the key to remove it, charge it indoors, or swap it in seconds without moving the whole e-scooter. Add a spare battery, sold separately, and the riding distance stretches from up to 22 miles to as much as 44.

How fast does the Hiboy S2R Plus go?

Up to 19 mph from the 350W brushless motor with 500W peak output. Drive Mode holds about 13 mph for efficient commuting.

What is the maximum range?

Up to 22 miles on a single charge in optimal conditions. With a spare detachable battery, sold separately, you can swap packs and ride up to 44 miles.

How long does it take to charge?

About 5 to 6 hours for the 36V 8.7Ah battery. Because it is removable, you can charge it indoors without bringing the e-scooter inside.

Can I remove the battery?

Yes. Turn the included key and lift it out. Charge it indoors, leave the e-scooter parked, swap in a spare in seconds, or carry only the 4.8 lb battery instead of the whole ride.

Can I buy a spare battery?

Yes, Hiboy sells an additional battery separately, and we can order one for you. Swapping to a charged spare extends the distance from 22 miles to about 44.

What makes it different from other Hiboy models?

The removable battery, the expandable range, the 31.5 lb frame, the split wheel design for easier tire replacement and the 9-inch pneumatic tires. It is one of Hiboy's most convenient commuters.

Can it climb hills?

Slopes of up to 15 degrees with the 350W motor and 500W peak. Typical city hills, bridges and neighborhood inclines are fine.

What is the split wheel design?

A two-piece rim that bolts together, so the tire comes off without fighting it over the rim. It cuts tire replacement time and makes repairs simpler, which is good news for you and for our technicians.

What tires does it use?

9-inch pneumatic tires, up from the previous S2R's 8.5-inch. Better shock absorption, more comfort, more stability, adjustable pressure and easier replacement.

What brakes does it have?

A dual system: an electronic E-Brake plus a disc brake, for responsive, reliable stops.

Does it have cruise control and riding modes?

Yes. Cruise control holds a steady speed without you holding the throttle. Two riding modes, Drive up to 13 mph and Sport up to 19 mph, switch with a double press of the power button.

Is it waterproof?

The body is rated IPX4 and the removable battery IPX5, so light rain and everyday splashes are fine. Do not ride through deep water or submerge it, and never charge a wet or swollen battery. Bring it straight in instead.

Is it easy to carry?

Yes. At 31.5 lbs it is one of Hiboy's lightest commuters, and with the battery out it is lighter still. It folds for stairs, apartments and public transit.

How does it compare to the Hiboy S2?

The detachable battery is the big difference. The S2R Plus also has larger 9-inch pneumatic tires, a longer 22-mile range and a lighter 31.5 lb frame. The S2 uses solid honeycomb tires and a fixed battery.

Can I test ride it first, and is there a warranty?

Yes to both. Come to any of our shops and ride it next to the S2 and S2 Nova. It is covered for one year on the brands we carry, handled in our shops by our own technicians.
