Hiboy S2 MAX questions

How fast does the Hiboy S2 MAX go?

Up to 19 mph from the 500W brushless motor with 650W peak. Smooth acceleration for commuting and city riding.

What is the maximum range?

Up to 40 miles (64 km) on a full charge in optimal conditions, one of the longest in the S2 series. Rider weight, speed, terrain, weather and battery use all change it.

How long does it take to charge?

About 6 to 7 hours for the 48V 11.6Ah lithium-ion battery with the included charger.

Is it good for commuting?

Yes, for longer commutes especially: 40 miles, 19 mph, 10-inch self-healing tires and a folding frame for daily travel and campus use.

Can it climb hills?

Inclines up to 20 degrees with the 500W motor and 650W peak, so city hills, bridges and moderate slopes are fine.

What makes it different from the other S2 models?

Up to 40 miles of range, a 48V battery, 10-inch self-healing tires, 20-degree hill climbing, regenerative braking, optional seat compatibility and Hiboy app support.

Pneumatic or solid tires?

Pneumatic, for comfort and grip. They are self-healing, so small punctures seal on their own, which takes away most of the maintenance worry of air tires.

What is regenerative braking?

Braking turns part of the momentum back into electricity for the battery. It will not fully recharge the pack, but it improves efficiency and adds to the range.

What brakes does it have?

A dual system: mechanical drum braking plus regenerative electronic braking, both activated by a single lever for smooth, balanced stops.

Is it waterproof?

It is rated IPX4 for light rain and splashes. Do not ride through deep puddles or submerge it, and never charge a wet or swollen battery. Bring it straight in instead.

Can I add a seat?

Yes, the optional seat, sold separately, turns it into a seated ride for longer trips. We can fit it for you in the shop.

What can I do with the Hiboy app?

Enable and adjust cruise control, monitor the battery, view ride statistics, check status and access extra settings. The S2 MAX works normally without it.

Does it have riding modes?

Three: Eco for maximum efficiency, Standard for everyday commuting and Sport for full performance, switched on the LED dashboard.

How does it compare to the S2 Pro?

Much more range, 40 miles against 25, plus a 48V battery, self-healing tires, 20-degree climbing and regenerative braking. The S2 Pro is lighter by a couple of pounds.

Can I test ride it first, and is there a warranty?

Yes to both. Come to any of our shops and ride it next to the S2 Pro and MAX Pro. It is covered for one year on the brands we carry, handled in our shops by our own technicians.
