Downhill and regenerative braking

The 36V 11.6Ah battery is regenerative: braking and coasting downhill feed energy back into it. It will not refill the pack, but it improves efficiency and stretches the range on hilly routes.

How fast does the Hiboy S2 Pro go?

Up to 19 mph from the 500W rear hub motor with 600W peak power. Smooth acceleration and consistent performance for daily commuting.

What is the maximum range?

Up to 25 miles on a single charge in optimal conditions. Rider weight, speed, terrain, weather and riding habits all change it.

How long does it take to charge?

About 4 to 6 hours for the 36V 11.6Ah lithium-ion battery, so overnight or between rides.

Is the S2 Pro good for commuting?

It was designed for it: 19 mph, 25 miles, 10-inch honeycomb tires, rear dual suspension and a folding frame for a comfortable, reliable daily ride.

Can it climb hills?

Inclines of up to 15 degrees with the 500W motor and 600W peak. Rider weight, battery charge and road surface affect it.

What is the advantage of 10-inch honeycomb tires?

Better stability than smaller tires, more shock absorption, puncture resistance and no inflation, so less maintenance than pneumatic tires. With the rear suspension they smooth out uneven roads.

Does it have suspension?

Yes, dual rear shock absorbers that cut vibration from bumps, cracks and uneven pavement for comfort and control.

What is regenerative braking?

When you brake or coast downhill, some of the momentum is turned back into electricity for the battery. It does not fully recharge the pack, but it improves efficiency and extends the range.

Is it waterproof?

It is rated IPX4 for light rain and splashes. Do not ride through deep water, heavy rain or flooded streets, and never charge a wet or swollen battery. Bring it straight in instead.

What is the maximum rider weight?

220 lbs (100 kg). Staying within it keeps performance, braking and battery efficiency where Hiboy rates them.

What can I control with the Hiboy app?

Lock and unlock, lights on or off, riding modes, cruise control on or off, speed settings, and Bluetooth pairing, all from your phone.

Does it have cruise control?

Yes. The S2 Pro holds a steady speed without you holding the throttle, which makes longer rides and daily commutes more comfortable.

Can I add a seat?

Yes. The S2 Pro takes Hiboy's optional removable seat, sold separately, for extra comfort on longer commutes. We can fit it for you in the shop.

How is it different from the S2?

More motor (500W vs 350W), more battery (25 miles vs 17), bigger 10-inch tires instead of 8.5-inch, and regenerative braking. The S2 is lighter at 35.5 lbs against 37.4 lbs.

Can I test ride it first, and is there a warranty?

Yes to both. Come to any of our shops and ride it next to the S2 and S2 MAX. It is covered for one year on the brands we carry, handled in our shops by our own technicians.
