The Segway E3 Go electric scooter is built for new riders: a rear motor that peaks at 800W for 20 mph, up to 25 miles on a 276 Wh battery, and dual coil springs up front to soften rough streets. Traction control and SegRide stability keep it calm on wet or uneven roads.

It folds in three steps, tracks with Apple Find My, and is rated IPX5 with an IPX7 battery pack.

Confidence for every block

Dual coil front suspension

Two coil springs with 40 mm of travel take the sting out of cracked pavement, potholes and speed bumps. Segway measured less vibration on gravel than the previous generation.

800W peak, rear-wheel drive

Rated at 400W and peaking at 800W, the rear motor pulls smoothly from a stop and handles grades of about 18%. Max speed per mode can be adjusted in the Segway Mobility App, which also has a walk mode.

Traction control and SegRide stability

Traction control adjusts motor output in real time when the rear wheel starts to slip, and a wider front-wheel stance with 65 mm of trail keeps the steering steady at speed and on uneven roads.

How fast does the Segway E3 Go go?

About 20 mph (32 km/h), from a rear motor rated at 400W that peaks at 800W.

How far does it go on a charge?

About 25 miles at an easy 9 mph and about 11 miles at full speed, per Segway. Rider weight, hills, wind and cold weather all bring that down.

Is it a good first electric scooter?

That is what it is designed for: front suspension, traction control, SegRide stability and adjustable speed per mode in the app make it easy to start slow and build up.

What is the maximum rider weight?

220 lbs (100 kg). Segway recommends riders aged 16 and up.

Is it waterproof?

The body is rated IPX5 and the battery pack IPX7, for rain and splashes. Do not ride through deep puddles, and never charge a wet or swollen battery. Bring it straight in instead.

How long does it take to charge?

About 5.5 hours for a full charge.
