Best Off-Road Electric Scooters of 2026
Share
The best off-road electric scooter for most riders is the Ausom DT2 Pro: dual motors, hydraulic brakes, coil-over suspension at both wheels and 10 x 3 inch all-terrain tubeless tires, rated for 71 miles, for $1,149. On a tighter budget, the Joyor T10 brings hydraulic brakes and hydraulic-spring suspension for $769. For serious trails, the Kaabo Warrior 11 Max, with a 120mm inverted hydraulic fork. One thing first: none of these is a street-legal electric scooter in New York City.
- New York State law only treats a device as an electric scooter if it weighs under 100 lb and has a top speed of 20 mph or less. Every model below is built to go faster, from 28 mph to 55 mph, and some weigh 100 lb or more.
- A speed mode or limiter set lower does not change that: the definition is about the top speed the machine is built for.
- Ride them on private land with the owner's permission, or at places whose own rules allow them. NYC park paths generally do not allow motorized devices.
- For NYC streets, choose an electric scooter designed for 20 mph or less. See our best commuter electric scooters for NYC and NYC electric scooter laws.
What makes an electric scooter good off-road
A pavement electric scooter with knobby tires is not an off-road electric scooter. On dirt, gravel and grass, these are the parts that matter:
- Suspension at both wheels, ideally hydraulic or adjustable, so the wheels stay on the ground instead of bouncing
- All-terrain tires, wide and air-filled or tubeless, for grip and cushioning
- Hydraulic disc brakes, which keep a steady feel on long descents
- Dual motors for traction and climbing on loose ground
- A water rating for puddles, mud and wet grass
- A weight you can handle: 65 lb is a different machine to pick up than 124 lb

Best value: Joyor T10
The Joyor T10 is hydraulic where it counts for $769: hydraulic disc brakes at both wheels and hydraulic-spring suspension front and rear. Two 1000W motors, 10-inch inflatable off-road tires and 130mm of ground clearance make it a real trail machine, rated for 46.6 miles from a 60V 18Ah battery. At 65.3 lb it is also one of the easier ones to lift into a car.
Best all-rounder: Ausom DT2 Pro
The Ausom DT2 Pro is the pick for a rider who wants one machine for gravel, trail and everything between. Dual 1100W motors peak at 2912W together, the 1216.8Wh pack is rated for 71 miles, and the suspension is a coil-over swingarm at each wheel, with damping adjustable to the rider. Hydraulic discs, 10 x 3 inch deep-tread tubeless tires and a 297 lb load limit round it out, at 74 lb.
Lightest and best in the wet: E-TWOW TankTorq TK3 and TK5
At 54.7 lb, the E-TWOW TankTorq TK3 is the lightest machine here, with hydraulic suspension front and rear, dual discs, traction control, 10-inch tubeless tires and an IPX6 rating, rated for 28 miles. The TankTorq TK5 steps up to 3000W of peak power, 50 miles from a 1260 Wh battery, adjustable hydraulic suspension, double hydraulic disc brakes and IPX7 sealing, at 76 lb. If your rides finish in mud and wet grass, the water ratings here are the strongest on the list.
Best for serious trails: Kaabo Warrior 11 Max
The Kaabo Warrior 11 Max is built like an off-road machine from the stem down: a 120mm inverted hydraulic fork, a rear shock adjustable through 15 levels, 160mm hydraulic discs with dual-piston calipers, and 11-inch all-terrain tubeless tires. Dual 1500W motors peak at 6720W, the 60V 36Ah pack is rated for 93 miles, and it carries riders up to 330 lb. The cost is 124 lb, so plan on a ramp or a second person to load it.
The Kaabo Warrior X Max brings the Warrior feel to 83 lb, with a hydraulic front shock, an adjustable oil-spring rear and 140mm hydraulic discs, rated for 56 miles. The Warrior X Plus uses spring suspension and 140mm discs, and lets you choose street or off-road block-tread tires at checkout.
Best for heavy riders: Teewing X4 and X5
The Teewing X4 and Teewing X5 are rated for riders up to 440 lb, the highest load on this list. Both run dual hydraulic shocks at the front and a mono shock at the rear, 160mm hydraulic discs and 11-inch tubeless tires. The X4 has 5600W of dual-motor power and 62 miles of rated range; the X5 has 6000W and a 2280Wh pack rated for 75 miles, with a seat included. At 100 lb each, they are heavy machines. Most compact: Teverun Blade Mini Ultra
The Teverun Blade Mini Ultra packs dual motors with a 3300W peak, a 60V 27Ah battery rated for 62 miles, full hydraulic brakes and spring suspension front and rear into a 10-inch frame, on pneumatic off-road tires. It weighs 65 lb, is rated IPX6, and folds small enough for a car trunk.
Off-road electric scooter or electric dirt bike?
If most of your riding is on trails and you want to sit, stand on pegs and take bigger hits, an electric dirt bike is the better tool. If you want something that folds, fits in a car and handles gravel, fire roads and grass, an off-road electric scooter makes more sense. Our best electric dirt bikes guide covers the other side.
