Segway Xafari questions

How fast does the Xafari go?

20 mph as a Class 2 e-bike, or 28 mph as Class 3 where the law permits. New York and California apply restrictions, and we configure the class for your state at handover.

How far does it go on a charge?

Up to 88 miles from the 936 Wh battery, which Segway calls category-leading. Assist level, rider weight, hills and temperature change that.

How powerful is it?

A 750W motor with 80 Nm of torque, pedal assist or throttle, with 12 assist levels.

How long does it take to charge?

About 5.3 hours with the 4 A charger.

What suspension does it have?

80 mm of front travel with stepless preload, 8 damping levels and lockout, plus 70 mm of rear travel. We set it for your weight in the shop.

What brakes does it have?

Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with two-piston calipers and 180 mm rotors front and rear.

Who does it fit?

Riders from 5 ft 1 in to 6 ft 2 in, with a 352 lb max payload. The seat, stem and display all adjust.

Can it carry a passenger?

No. The rear rack is rated for 55 lbs of cargo only. Segway's cargo and passenger e-bike is the MUXI.

How does it lock and track?

AirLock unlocks it as you approach. GPS and Apple Find My track its location. Enhanced connected services are free for the first year, then by subscription in the Segway Mobility App.

Is it waterproof?

The battery is rated IPX7 and the body IPX5. Ride in the rain, but do not pressure wash it, keep the USB port dry, and never charge a wet or damaged battery.

Does it have turn signals?

No. It has an automatic 1300-lumen headlight with high and low beam and a tail light that brightens when you brake.

Can I replace the pedals?

Yes, with any standard 9/16 inch by 20 TPI pedal. The left side is reverse threaded. We fit them in the shop.

What car rack do I need?

A vehicle rack rated for at least 100 lbs per tray for the Xafari.

Can I test ride it first?

Yes. Come to any of our shops and ride it around the block next to the Myon and MUXI before you decide.

Does it come with a warranty?

One year on the brands we carry, handled in our shops by our own technicians.

Is financing available?
